TC Energy, (previously TransCanada) contracted The State Group to provide industrial electrical services, to overhaul and enhance the efficiency, reliability, and safety of their Compressor Engines in multiple facilities around the US.

Scope (challenge)

The State Group SOW included

  • full electrical Unit Control Panel replacement
  • 90% demo of existing conduits
  • perimeter cable tray system
  • Hazard Advisory components
  • new engine room (LED) lighting
  • total engine tubing replacement
  • high pressure fuel install
  • exterior components in the turbo area

Solution and Implementation

The State Group is a leader in the Energy and Gas & Oil Industry and our electrical and instrumentation experience was critical to the successful completion of this time sensitive engine overhaul procedure. In-service dates and minimal downtime projects are extremely critical to gas and oil operators. Using our unique brand of tool customization and highly skilled industrial electricians team, we are able to take on the most complex projects and deliver a successful project on budget and on schedule.



The Start-Up and Commissioning process commenced without incident and each inspection step was passed without any negative indications. Subsequent 15 and 30 minute runs passed and the final 5 hour run was flawless. The State Group received kudos for completing the installation successfully and safely.
