Project Description and Scope:
The State Group was contracted to perform services for the installation of 4 new Filter Presses within the existing Filter Plant facility. The work consisted of demolition and relocation of existing services which included removal of existing process equipment, bins, platforms, speed tile walls, excavation and reinforcement of structural piers followed with the construction scope of work inclusive of all new civil work, structural steel, piping, electrical, instrumentation, equipment assembly for complete the installation of the 4 New State of the Art Presses and auxiliary systems, new sumps, thickener tanks and agitators, compressor systems and receivers, conveyors, baghouse system, process pumps and transitioning to commissioning of the system.
The work began in September 2014 and was reached substantial completion May 2016.
The work was conducted within the existing Filter Plant Complex at the Vale Smelter in Copper Cliff, Ontario.
