Project Description and Scope:
TTC awarded the contract to The State Group to supply all the labour, material and equipment, to complete the Broadview Station Breaker Room structural paving rehabilitation and duct bank improvement.
The project was located on the Bloor‐Danforth Subway Line at Broadview Station and involved the replacement of the old 600VDC duct bank/cables from the Substation to the 3rd rail of the active Subway line. This new duct bank was deep beneath the active Bus Transfer Loop and required considerable rerouting of services and coordination.
Also, included in the project was the rebuild of the deteriorated structural concrete beams in the subway station while still maintaining it operational to the public.
