Project Description and Scope:
The State Group has been the resident Electrical Contractor at the RBC Guelph Data Centre under an MSA since 2009. The relationship has developed from this to completing the Mechanical work on a major addition in 2011.
The State Group executed the fast‐tracked mechanical installation on the new 226,000 square foot, two‐storey Data Center addition, which included three Data Halls, each at 17, 728 square feet area.
The Chiller Plant (N+1) had a total capacity of 2,790 tons, including 42 CRAH Units and 9 Air Handling Units, as well as an N+1 Condensor watersystem with Remote Sump/Condenser Water Storage consisting of (4) 128,000 litre tanks to provide 8‐hour storage.
The Standby Power Plant (N+1) included 4 @ 2.5MW Emergency Generators and (4) 47,750 A/G Fuel Oil Storage Tanks.
The State Group self‐performed in excess of 100,000 direct man‐hours without a lost time injury and assisted the owner in bringing this facility online on‐budget with an extremely challenging schedule.
Since then, The State Group services to RBC have grown to include most of their Construction and Maintenance requirements. Recently, The State Group has been contracted by RBC as the General Contractor on a $20M+ design‐build refresh project at this facility.
