Project Description and Scope:

Nova Scotia Power Inc. (NSPI) and Port Hawkesbury Paper developed a new 60 MW biomass co‐generation facility at its Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia facility.

The cogeneration project represents another important step toward meeting Nova Scotia’s renewable energy commitments while at the same time creating and sustaining jobs in the province. This local biomass fueled co‐generation facility will supply Nova Scotia with approximately 400 GWH annually, representing approximately 3 percent of the province’s total electricity requirement.

The State Group’s contract involved the setting of associated sole plates, the Mechanical installation of the Multi‐extraction Condensing Steam Turbine, Surface Steam Condenser and 60MW Generator, as well as the setting of all auxiliary associated equipment, pipe fabrication, and installation of all associated interconnecting piping, valves, inline devices, electrical and Instrumentation.
