Project Description and Scope:
Hydro One awarded the EPC contract to The State Group for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of the new Evergreen Substation Relay Building. The Relay Building was build adjacent to the Greenfield 500kV Hydro One Switchyard located just outside of London, Ontario.
Work was performed on an expedited schedule mobilizing to site in July 2013 with substantial completion in November 2013.
The State Group self-performed all site work, excavation and foundations, and also installed all the associated building services including electrical, mechanical, HVAC and the fire alarm system.
The State Group managed sub-trade services including engineering, precast panel supply and installation, roofing and painting.
The early completion allowed Hydro One to begin the installation of the relay equipment as per their overall construction plan.
This was another Zero Lost Time Injury project completed by State Group.
