Project Description and Scope:
Hydro One awarded the EPC contract to the State Group for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of a new 355 square meter (3820 sf) 230 kV Relay Building at the Birch TS site.
Mobilization to site commenced in August 2016 and substantial performance was completed in January 2017.
The State Group was the constructor for the project and provided site supervision, site safety and QA/QC. The State Group installed all the HVAC, mechanical and electrical building services, as well as the fire alarm system.
The State Group is managing sub-trade services including engineering, excavation, concrete foundations and slab on grade, precast panel supply and installation, roofing, masonry, interior walls, painting.
Upon achieving substantial performance and acceptance, Hydro One completed the installation of the all internal cabling and equipment with their own resources.
