FORD MOTOR CO. WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT
The State Group was the Construction Manager and worked in conjunction with N.A. Water Systems (Veolia Water Systems Technology Company) to provide all of the services required to design, build, commission, and turnover a New Waste Water Treatment Facility for the Ford Oakville Assembly facility. Ford previously operated an existing treatment system on the Oakville Assembly Plant Powerhouse Parcel (OACPP) that provided removal of solids, oils, and heavy metals from process wastewater prior to discharge to the Regional Municipality of Halton.
   
TOYOTA MOTOR MFG. INDIANA MISC. PROJECTS
The State Group has remained a resident Multi-trade contractor at the Princeton Facility since the plant`s construction in 1996 and provides on-going daily service.
   
DAIMLERCHRYSLER BELVIDERE ASSEMBLY PLANT
The State Group`s responsibility on this project was to support ABB with their final installation of the Body Shop at Daimler-Chrysler Belvidere Assembly Plant. ABB installed 936 robots, material handling conveyors and body shop operations equipment. State completed ABB`s punch list items from Chrysler and supported ABB with commissioning of the entire Body Shop.
   
FORD MOTOR CO. CONSTRUCTION COMMODITY MANAGEMENT
The State Group has successfully implemented Construction Commodity Management programs at 3 Ford facilities - OAP, OTP, Bramalea NPDC and assisted in ISO 14001 Environmental Audit in Oakville.
   
FORD "BIGFOOT" PROJECT HEATING & VENTILATING
The State Group worked on a Heating and Ventilating Project better known as "Bigfoot". This project took place at Ford Oakville, Ontario Truck Plant and the Oakville Assembly Plant.
   

Metals

ALCOA INC. ALCOA GENERATING COMPANY & ALCOA PRIMARY METALS
The facility is one of the largest in the world consisting of 120 acres under roof, 300 acres fenced, and 9000 acres of total land.
   
DOFASCO NEW GALVANIZATION LINE
Dofasco's $180M, 72' wide state of the art hot dipped galvanizing plant produces over 450,000 tons of steel per year of corrosion-resistant galvanized steel, primarily for automotive applications.
   
DOFASCO NO. 3 GALVANIZING LINE UPGRADE
Dofasco No.3 Galvanizing Line is comprised of refurbishing an existing facility with new Temper Mill / Tension Leveler equipment, Hot Bridle, Welder, new PCR installation, no touch loading equipment and new drive line upgrades throughout the mill including all structural related steel work.
   
AK STEEL CONTINUOUS & ANNEALING PICKLE LINE
The State Group performed the electrical installation work for a high-performance pickling line for a carbon and stainless strip steel and an annealing and pickling line for hot and cold-rolled stainless steel strips. Both lines are installed in the cold rolling complex in AK Steel's 1.8 million tons per year facility in Rockport, Indiana.
   
DOFASCO FDIP NO. 2 CPCM NEW PICKLE LINE PROJECT
Dofasco No. 2 CPCM project was comprised of two construction projects which resulted in the coupling of a new facility (No. 6 Pickle Line) to an existing facility (No. 2 Tandem Cold Mill).
   
ALCOA INC. GAS TREATMENT CENTRE & ALUMINA HANDLING EQUIPMENT
This Gas Treatment Centre is significantly different from the conventional bag house technology which currently exists. It passes raw Alumina past the flue gas, creating an enriched ore to be used in the Aluminum manufacture. This was the first installation of its kind in North America.
   

Power Generation

ONTARIO POWER GENERATION RAGGED RAPIDS GENERATING STATION
Having completed this project well ahead of schedule, OPG is able to commence with the necessary commissioning to ensure revenue generating well before original expectations.
   
CARDINAL 150MW COGENERATION PLANT
The Cardinal cogeneration facility is located adjacent to the Canada Starch Company (CASCO) plant in Cardinal, Ontario. The facility is a natural gas-fueled combined cycle cogeneration system utilizing a Westinghouse steam turbine, a single pass condenser, auxiliary boiler, and a water treatment plant.
   
GTAA 117MW COMBINED CYCLE CONGENERATION PLANT
The project was the construction of 117MW Combined Cycle Cogeneration Power Plant for the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) at the Pearson Airport in Toronto. The plant produces Electricity for Pearson Airport (which is projected to rise to 70 MW maximum) and Steam for Heating and Cooling of Pearson's terminals. The plant also exports excess electricity onto the power grid at 44KV for sale to Hydro One and has full 'islanding' capability for Pearson in case of possible power grid black outs.
   
BAYSIDE POWER COGENERATION PLANT
ICS-STATE started on the Bayside Power Cogeneration project in the spring of 1999 and continues to perform multi-discipline installations with several clients for a total amount in excess of $30 million.
   
NEPCO 580MW PEAKING POWER PLANT
This project involved the installation of 4 - 145 MW Westinghouse 501D Gas Turbine/Generators with all supporting facilities. All 4 systems had Evaporative cooling and demin water injection to reduce emissions.
   
NEPCO 540MW PEAKING POWER PLANT
This project involved the installation of 3 - 180 MW Westinghouse 501F Gas Turbine/Generators with all supporting facilities. 1 unit had a Hydrogen Cooled Generator, and the other 2 units were newly designed 501FD Gas Turbines with Airopac Generators. All three generators had Evaporative Cooling and Demin Water Injection to reduce emissions. Power was tied into a TVA 400 KV Main Grid.
   

Oil and Gas

MANIFOLD AT ENBRIDGE TANK FARM
The State Group was involved in the Refurbishment of 7 bulk storage tanks with new SAAB Radar gauging and new 5KV distribution racks.
   
TRANSCANADA STATION 130
The TransCanada Station 130 Update Project was the complete construction of a $25 million new Natural Gas Compression facility which included the installation of (2) Solar MARS gas compressors for the existing Station 130 Plant in Toronto, Ontario.
   
TCPL KEYSTONE PIPELINE INSTALL OF 7 PUMP STATIONS & 4 METER STATIONS
The State Group supplied and installed the electrical and instrumentation services on seven Greenfield pump stations, two metering stations and 14 mainline valves for phase one of the TCPL Keystone Pipeline.
   

Mining

PUEBLO VIEJO PROJECT
The Pueblo Viejo Project is an Open pit Gold Mine located 15 km west from provincial capital of Cotui and approximately 95 km northwest of the national capital of Santo Domingo in the central part of the Dominican Republic.
   
GIBRALTAR ORE FEED UPGRADE
This work included installation of new underground Ore Feed Conveyor system, connection to existing ore feed circuits and erection of the Ore feed pile cover structure complete with Head house and Conveyor Gallery.
   

Mission Critical Facilities

Bell Aliant NGDC
The Bell Aliant Data Center was the Design/Build of a Greenfield Data Center, which included all Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical and Landscaping Services. Included is Power Distribution Equipment (HV Transformers, Diesel Generators, Switchboards, UPS) and overhead bus duct power distribution for the white space.
   
IBM DATA CENTRE UPGRADE
The IBM-3600 Steeles Data Centre expansion (Electrical) consisted of installation of new Power Distribution Equipment (HV Transformers, Diesel Generators, Switchboards, UPS and raised floor Distribution), construction of exterior concrete duct banks/service tunnels and new White Spaces.
   
SUNGARD
SunGard is a disaster recovery operation servicing multiple clients. SunGard took over a new 40,000 sq ft facility leased from Orlando in Mississauga. Orlando included State as a subcontractor to their design build team. This project benefited from our multi-trade capabilities. State supplied them with electrical, telecommunications and mechanical trades. This project was delivered on a cost plus basis.
   

Transportation and Infrastructure

GTAA INSTALLATION OF BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEM
This project involved the mechanical and electrical installation, testing and commissioning of the entire new state of the art Baggage Handling System and CATSA baggage security system for the New Terminal One at Pearson International Airport. This project was completed over an eight year period during which there were two separate phases and involved the live switch over of conveyor sub systems to facilitate the public opening of the airport.
   
TTC FINCH STATION VENTILATION UPGRADE
The work was for the installation of fire ventilation system in order to protect patrons during a major fire evacuation.
   
ST. JOHN'S REHABILITATION HOSPITAL
The project included installation of new FA system throughout the existing facility, amalgamated with the East Wing. A new security system was installed throughout the existing facility and new wing along with a new electrical service comprising of new H/V gear, power transformers, L/V switchboard to feed the entire facility, and a new generator to feed the East Wing with a complex ATS and Kirk key scheme to allow the system to be fed from the two generators. The transfer from existing to new electrical service was accomplished by placing the entire existing facility on a mobile generator to keep the facility in operation while the East Wing was under construction.
   
SAULT AREA HOSPITAL
The State Group was the electrical and mechanical contractor to the Ellis Don/Carillion Joint Venture for the new Sault Area Hospital which was a build, finance, and operate project for Infrastructure Ontario. Approximately 650,000 square feet, the new Greenfield hospital has 289 beds in a three-level complex.
   
TTC YORK MILLS STATION FIRE VENTILATION UPGRADE
The work State completed for the TTC consisted of a ventilation modernization and upgrade program to provide sufficient ventilation capacity to protect patrons during evacuation, in the event of a major fire in the subway system.
   
DONGARA PELLET PLANT
The Dongara Pellet Plant was a green field design build construction of a new state of the art plant for garbage recycling. This plant is the first of its kind in the world which processes green bag garbage from the Region of York. The garbage is fully sorted, fiberized and then processed into a fuel pellet for shipment to other facilities off site.
   

Commercial/Institutional

STEELESTECH NEW CONSTRUCTION
The Steeles Technology Campus (SteelesTech) is located on the south side of Steeles Avenue East between Highway 404 and Victoria Park Avenue in the City of Toronto. SteelesTech is a 1.3 million square foot technology and business office park comprised of six buildings including one four-storey, 175,000 square foot low-rise office facility, an 11-storey, 330,000 square foot office tower, and a 280,000 square foot building that incorporates materials, features and benefits consistent with the first phase.
   
METRO TORONTO CONVENTION CENTRE
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is Canada's largest convention centre which is located in Toronto's dynamic downtown core. The kitchen catering has the capability to serve up to 7,000, parking can accommodate 1,200 cars and you can drive your truck up onto the Exhibit Floor. The Centre is located in the heart of Toronto's downtown and the business district, making it easy to access the rest of the city by public transportation and very close to major roadways and Union Station for the out-of-town travelers.
   
CBC ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
The CBC broadcasts approximately 175,000 hours annually from radio and television stations located across Canada. The programs are delivered through six networks - English Television, English Radio, English Stereo, French Television, French Radio, and French Stereo. News, Current Affairs and News world, Variety, Sports, Arts and Entertainment programs that showcase Canadian Talent and culture are all examples of how CBC has informed, enlightened, and entertained audiences for close to six decades.
   
DURHAM REGION 320,000 S.F. REGIONAL ADMIN BLDG.
Durham Region required a single building to house all 13 departments of the regional government. Included in the wish list of the building was also the ability to provide temporary facilities for the Provincial Emergency Communications Center, the Provincial Courts and the Federal Emergency Task force. The distribution systems had to be designed to provide an N+1 emergency/UPS power system that could operate on a 24 hours basis for an extended period similar to the blackout of 2003.
   

Power/High Voltage

HYDRO ONE RICHVIEW TRANSFORMER STATION
This project is the first step to a major High Voltage equipment replacement project scheduled to be completed in 2018.
   
BRUCE POWER DEMINERALIZATION FACILITY
This facility was constructed by a Joint Venture Partnership with The State Group and Worley Parsons Canada. The equipment was designed and supplied by Veolia Water Solutions, one of the world leaders in water treatment technology.
   
DETWEILER T.S. S.V.C.
The State Group, a Subcontractor to A.B.B. were recently contracted to construct a Static Var Compensator for HONI at the Detweiler T.S. site in Kitchener.
   
ST. JOSEPH WIND FARM 60 SIEMENS 1.8MW TURBINES
St. Joseph Wind Farm reached full operation in March of 2011, becoming the largest wind energy project in Manitoba.
   
GHOST PINE WIND FARM 51 TOWERS/51 GE TURBINES
Scope of work included substation, 5 feeder circuits with provisions for future collection system, 72km of 35kV underground collection tower wiring on 51 GE 1.6MW turbines, all in a 12 week installation window.
   
ABB/HYDRO ONE HEARN SS
The Hearn SS project was an expansion and update to an existing 115kV Hydro One Switchyard located in the Portlands area of Toronto, ON.
   
HYDRO ONE EVERGREEN RELAY
The Evergreen Substation Relay Building project was adjacent to the new Greenfield 500kV Hydro One Switchyard located just outside of London, Ontario.
