PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The work State completed for the TTC consisted of a ventilation modernization and upgrade program to provide sufficient ventilation capacity to protect patrons during evacuation, in the event of a major fire in the subway system.
This was a multi-trade installation with State being the General Contractor. The work that was completed included architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and communications.
The mechanical work included the supply, installation and testing of subway ventilation fan assemblies with four fans total being placed in the York Mills Station above the subway tracks.

The civil and architectural work included the provisions of two new entrances, and refurbishment of the vent shafts that allow airflow to the fans.

The electrical portion of the work included the supply and installation of a new high voltage service and control, and communication equipment to support the functioning of the fans, including PLC system, which integrates fans and related equipment to the Station, and remotely to the TTC.
